Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about our services, pricing, or how to book? Find answers below. If you don't see what you're looking for, give us a call.
Insurance & Payment
We work with select insurance plans and Medicaid programs for
non-emergency medical transportation. Coverage varies by plan
and individual eligibility. We recommend calling us at
(407) 555-0199
to verify your specific coverage before booking. Our team can
help you understand your transportation benefits and what's
covered under your plan.
For private-pay patients, we accept major credit cards, debit
cards, and cash. You can also pay online through our secure
AngelTrack payment portal at any time. For insurance and
Medicaid patients, we bill the provider directly — you only pay
any applicable copay or deductible, if required by your plan.
Pricing depends on the type of service (wheelchair, stretcher,
ambulatory), the distance of the trip, and whether it's a
one-way or round-trip. We offer competitive, transparent pricing
with no hidden fees. Call us at
(407) 555-0199
for a personalized quote based on your specific trip details.
Yes! You can pay your bill securely online through our
AngelTrack payment portal. Visit our
Book a Ride page and
click "Pay My Bill" to access the portal. Have your account
number or trip reference handy when you log in.
Booking & Scheduling
We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance to guarantee
availability, especially for wheelchair and stretcher transport.
However, we do accommodate same-day requests whenever possible —
call us as early as you can for the best chance of same-day
service. For recurring trips like dialysis, we set up a standing
schedule so you only need to book once.
Yes, we offer same-day booking subject to vehicle and driver
availability. Call us at
(407) 555-0199
as early as possible on the day you need a ride. Our dispatch
team will check availability and get you scheduled as quickly as
we can.
Yes, Vital Med Transport operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week,
365 days a year. Whether you need an early-morning dialysis
pickup, a late-night hospital discharge, or a weekend medical
appointment, we're here for you.
We understand that plans change. Please call us as soon as
possible if you need to cancel or reschedule your ride. We
appreciate at least 2 hours notice for cancellations to avoid
any fees. Call our dispatch team directly and we'll get you
rebooked right away.
Vehicles & Services
Our fleet includes wheelchair-accessible vans with ADA-compliant
lifts and securement systems, stretcher-capable vehicles for
patients who need to lie flat, and comfortable sedans for
ambulatory patients. All vehicles are modern,
climate-controlled, regularly inspected, and thoroughly
sanitized between passengers.
Door-to-door service means our drivers will
assist the patient from their front door (or building entrance)
to the vehicle, and from the vehicle to the entrance of their
destination. Bed-to-bed service is an extended
level of care where our team assists the patient from their bed
or room at one location all the way to their bed or room at the
destination. This is common for stretcher transports between
facilities. Let us know your needs when booking and we'll ensure
the right level of service.
Yes, we accommodate a range of special needs including patients
who require supplemental oxygen during transport, bariatric
patients who need larger vehicles, and those with other medical
equipment. Please let us know about any special requirements
when you book so we can assign the appropriate vehicle and
ensure our team is prepared.
Absolutely. A family member, caregiver, or companion is welcome
to ride along at no additional charge, space permitting. Just
let us know when you book so we can make sure there's room in
the vehicle. For stretcher transports, companion seating may be
limited — please ask when scheduling.
Yes, we provide long-distance medical transportation across the
state of Florida and to neighboring states by arrangement.
Whether you're transferring between facilities, visiting an
out-of-area specialist, or relocating to be closer to family, we
can help. Call us for a long-distance quote.
Safety & Qualifications
Yes, every driver is PASS (Passenger Assistance Safety and
Sensitivity) certified, CPR and First Aid certified, and has
undergone a thorough background check. Our drivers also receive
HIPAA training to protect patient privacy and participate in
ongoing safety and sensitivity training.
Yes, our entire fleet is fully ADA compliant. Our
wheelchair-accessible vehicles are equipped with ramps or lifts
and approved securement systems. We meet or exceed all federal
and state accessibility requirements for non-emergency medical
transportation vehicles.
